Heart / Puso

Our cover: This photograph is a romantic "self potrait" of Roger with his girlfriend on a beach in Dubai, proposing for marriage. This was an official photo entry of Roger Alfonso from Dubai, UAE to PEBA 2010 International Photo contest

Love makes the world go round, the saying goes. Just mention the word “love” to the person next to you and surely, he or she can hear bells ringing. Everybody can resonate with it, for each one has his or her sacred love-experience. God even used the love analogy in describing his relationship with His people: He is a husband, Israel is a wife. (Jeremiah 3:14, NIV)

In this life where people come and go, love becomes even more colorful by our series of letting go and holding on. The author of the classic poem “Beyond Forgetting” passionately cries this out,
For a moment I thought I could forget you.
For a moment I thought I could still the restlessness in my heart.
I thought the past could no longer haunt me—nor hurt me.
How wrong I was!

For the past, no matter how distant, is as much a part of me as life itself.
And you are part of that life. You are so much a part of me—
of my dreams, my early hopes, my youth and my ambitions—
that in all my tasks I can’t help remembering you.
Many little delights and things remind me of you.

Yes, I came.
And would my pride mock my real feelings?
Would the love song, the sweet and lovely smile on your face,
be lost among the deepening shadows?

I have wanted to be alone.
I thought I could make myself forget you in silence and in song...
And yet I remembered.
For who could forget the memory of the once lovely,
the once happy world such as ours?

Welcome to the love month! This February, The Kablogs Journal turns into a rendezvous of stories, rantings, musings and perhaps even outbursts of love. It is great to know that our dear bloggers reveal certain experiences very close to their heart. Read on and find out that there are still thousands of reason why love makes the world go round.
